New Federal Grant Opportunity for Transportation Infrastructure

The U.S. Department of Transportation has opened applications for the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Grant Program, with $1.5 billion available to fund projects that deliver significant local or regional impact.

🌎 Eligible Applicants: States, local governments, public agencies, transit authorities, port authorities, federally recognized Tribes, and multi-jurisdictional groups.
💰 Funding Range:

  • Rural capital projects: minimum $1M

  • Urban capital projects: minimum $5M

  • Planning projects: no minimum

  • Maximum award: $25M

  • Special set-asides for planning, persistent poverty areas, and historically disadvantaged communities

Match Requirements: 20% of project cost, but no match is required for rural, disadvantaged, or persistent poverty communities.
